f723aa1817 sched_clock: Avoid corrupting hrtimer tree during suspend
During suspend we call sched_clock_poll() to update the epoch and
accumulated time and reprogram the sched_clock_timer to fire
before the next wrap-around time. Unfortunately,
sched_clock_poll() doesn't restart the timer, instead it relies
on the hrtimer layer to do that and during suspend we aren't
calling that function from the hrtimer layer. Instead, we're
reprogramming the expires time while the hrtimer is enqueued,
which can cause the hrtimer tree to be corrupted. Furthermore, we
restart the timer during suspend but we update the epoch during
resume which seems counter-intuitive.

Let's fix this by saving the accumulated state and canceling the
timer during suspend. On resume we can update the epoch and
restart the timer similar to what we would do if we were starting
the clock for the first time.

f074051ff5 xfs: squash prealloc while over quota free space as well
From: Brian Foster <bfoster@redhat.com>

Commit 4d559a3b introduced heavy prealloc. squashing to catch the case
of requesting too large a prealloc on smaller filesystems, leading to
repeated flush and retry cycles that occur on ENOSPC. Now that we issue
eofblocks scans on EDQUOT/ENOSPC, squash the prealloc against the
minimum available free space across all applicable quotas as well to
avoid a similar problem of repeated eofblocks scans.

dc06f398f0 xfs: run an eofblocks scan on ENOSPC/EDQUOT
From: Brian Foster <bfoster@redhat.com>

Speculative preallocation and and the associated throttling metrics
assume we're working with large files on large filesystems. Users have
reported inefficiencies in these mechanisms when we happen to be dealing
with large files on smaller filesystems. This can occur because while
prealloc throttling is aggressive under low free space conditions, it is
not active until we reach 5% free space or less.

For example, a 40GB filesystem has enough space for several files large
enough to have multi-GB preallocations at any given time. If those files
are slow growing, they might reserve preallocation for long periods of
time as well as avoid the background scanner due to frequent
modification. If a new file is written under these conditions, said file
has no access to this already reserved space and premature ENOSPC is
imminent.

To handle this scenario, modify the buffered write ENOSPC handling and
retry sequence to invoke an eofblocks scan. In the smaller filesystem
scenario, the eofblocks scan resets the usage of preallocation such that
when the 5% free space threshold is met, throttling effectively takes
over to provide fair and efficient preallocation until legitimate
ENOSPC.

The eofblocks scan is selective based on the nature of the failure. For
example, an EDQUOT failure in a particular quota will use a filtered
scan for that quota. Because we don't know which quota might have caused
an allocation failure at any given time, we include each applicable
quota determined to be under low free space conditions in the scan.

f452639792 xfs: support a union-based filter for eofblocks scans
From: Brian Foster <bfoster@redhat.com>

The eofblocks scan inode filter uses intersection logic by default.
E.g., specifying both user and group quota ids filters out inodes that
are not covered by both the specified user and group quotas. This is
suitable for behavior exposed to userspace.

Scans that are initiated from within the kernel might require more broad
semantics, such as scanning all inodes under each quota associated with
an inode to alleviate low free space conditions in each.

Create the XFS_EOF_FLAGS_UNION flag to support a conditional union-based
filtering algorithm for eofblocks scans. This flag is intentionally left
out of the valid mask as it is not supported for scans initiated from
userspace.

caafb95d69 ixgbe: don't check minimum link when direct assigned to virtual machine
This patch prevents the display of the minimum link qualification check
if we might be in a virtual machine. This check is incorrect and
misleading in this case, since we actually don't really know what the
available bandwidth is. To do so, we simply check whether each function
on the bus matches our device id. If it doesn't the most likely scenario
is that we're directly assigned to a virtual machine.

7f0b1bf045 arm64: Fix barriers used for page table modifications
The architecture specification states that both DSB and ISB are required
between page table modifications and subsequent memory accesses using the
corresponding virtual address. When TLB invalidation takes place, the
tlb_flush_* functions already have the necessary barriers. However, there are
other functions like create_mapping() for which this is not the case.

The patch adds the DSB+ISB instructions in the set_pte() function for
valid kernel mappings. The invalid pte case is handled by tlb_flush_*
and the user mappings in general have a corresponding update_mmu_cache()
call containing a DSB. Even when update_mmu_cache() isn't called, the
kernel can still cope with an unlikely spurious page fault by
re-executing the instruction.

In addition, the set_pmd, set_pud() functions gain an ISB for
architecture compliance when block mappings are created.

ec8b0dd51c drm/i915: Allow overlapping userptr objects
Whilst I strongly advise against doing so for the implicit coherency
issues between the multiple buffer objects accessing the same backing
store, it nevertheless is a valid use case, akin to mmaping the same
file multiple times.

The reason why we forbade it earlier was that our use of the interval
tree for fast invalidation upon vma changes excluded overlapping
objects. So in the case where the user wishes to create such pairs of
overlapping objects, we degrade the range invalidation to walkin the
linear list of objects associated with the mm.

A situation where overlapping objects could arise is the lax implementation
of MIT-SHM Pixmaps in the xserver. A second situation is where the user
wishes to have different access modes to a region of memory (e.g. access
through a read-only userptr buffer and through a normal userptr buffer).

f7d4ad98fd gpiolib: Export gpiochip_request_own_desc and gpiochip_free_own_desc
Both functions were introduced to let gpio drivers request their own
gpio pins. Without exporting the functions, this can however only be
used by gpio drivers built into the kernel.

Secondary impact is that the functions can not currently be used by
platform initialization code associated with the gpio-pca953x driver.
This code permits auto-export of gpio pins through platform data, but
if this functionality is used, the module can no longer be unloaded due
to the problem solved with the introduction of gpiochip_request_own_desc
and gpiochip_free_own_desc.

Export both function so they can be used from modules and from
platform initialization code.

53b903093b staging: ced1401: remove driver
The state of the driver hasn't improved much since it was added to
staging, and no one with the hardware is currently working on it, so
remove it. This commit can be reverted if someone wants to clean the
driver up and move it to its proper place in the kernel.

6b86609527 drivers/staging/bcm/Misc.c: fix a check
The issue was reported by static analysis.
The value holding flags was &-ed with 0x02, being compared to 0x01
(TRUE) after that. Such comparsion is always false.

Resolution: drop the comparsion to TRUE in the condition.

&-ing with 0x02 is right, according to result variable name
(reporting_mode) and description in drivers/staging/bcm/target_params.h
("bit 1 = 1: CINR reporting in Idlemode Msg").

0bc56cbef9 [media] saa7134: NEC scancode fix
This driver codes the two address bytes in reverse order when compared to the
other drivers, so make it consistent (and update the keymap, note that the
result is a prefix change from 0x6b86 -> 0x866b, and the latter is pretty
common among the NECX keymaps. While not conclusive, it's still a strong hint
that the change is correct).

120703f9eb [media] rc-core: document the protocol type
Right now the protocol information is not preserved, rc-core gets handed a
scancode but has no idea which protocol it corresponds to.

This patch (which required reading through the source/keymap for all drivers,
not fun) makes the protocol information explicit which is important
documentation and makes it easier to e.g. support multiple protocols with one
decoder (think rc5 and rc-streamzap). The information isn't used yet so there
should be no functional changes.
