185e0bebb4Having DRM_SUN4I built-in but DRM_SUN8I_MIXER as a loadable module results in a link error, as we try to access a symbol from the sun8i_tcon_top.ko module: ERROR: "sun8i_tcon_top_de_config" [drivers/gpu/drm/sun4i/sun4i-tcon.ko] undefined! ERROR: "sun8i_tcon_top_set_hdmi_src" [drivers/gpu/drm/sun4i/sun4i-tcon.ko] undefined! ERROR: "sun8i_tcon_top_of_table" [drivers/gpu/drm/sun4i/sun4i-tcon.ko] undefined! This solves the problem by adding a silent symbol for the tcon_top module, building it as a separate module in exactly the cases that we need it, but in a way that it is reachable by the other modules. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
