[ Upstream commit 21f82062d0f241e55dd59eb630e8710862cc90b4 ] An exchange with a NFC target must complete within NCI_DATA_TIMEOUT. A delay of 700 ms is not sufficient for cryptographic operations on smart cards. CardOS 6.0 may need up to 1.3 seconds to perform 256-bit ECDH or 3072-bit RSA. To prevent brute-force attacks, passports and similar documents introduce even longer delays into access control protocols (BAC/PACE). The timeout should be higher, but not too much. The expiration allows us to detect that a NFC target has disappeared. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
